The Brett and Kelly Coleman Foundation

The Brett and Kelly Coleman Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Northern Nevada, is focused on assisting children in need. The Brett and Kelly Coleman Foundation has been a huge support system and an amazing collaborating organization to help support local youth through education.

Fit Learning

In 1998, several graduate students in the behavior analysis program at the University of Nevada, Reno founded Fit Learning in a broom closet.  Originally, Center for Advanced Learning, its founders were committed to applying the science of learning for the transformation of mainstream, academic difficulties. Two decades later, Fit Learning’s impact now reaches students across the globe. We are all joined together inside our noble cause of transforming every child who walks through our doors – regardless of age, disability, challenge, or label – such that they acquire the kinds of cognitive and academic skills that will enable them to go forward and make a difference in their own lives. And now, through Empower Youth, the same opportunities can now be provided to youth who would otherwise be unable to receive the life-changing education provided by the Fit Learning method.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Women and Children’s Center of the Sierra

The Women and Children’s Center of the Sierra (WACCS) provides services to support women as they work to move out of poverty and improve their lives. Their comprehensive approach includes ESL and GED (HiSet) education, job search and preparation, a free diaper bank, crisis intervention, and information and referrals for any other community service a woman may need to move forward in her life.
